Anti-spam policing reaps profit

The bubonic plague of the cyber world and the dread of all internet users- SPAM, has seen a decline in China for the second month running, according to the  Anti-Spam Center of the Internet Society of China.

Based on the false believe that Spamming will reduce the cost of advertising and promotions, thousands of businesses, mostly small and medium enterprises  adopted this technique hoping to reap huge gains but all that resulted from this virual gimmick has been pain for the everyday internet user.  Currently, China ranks second to America in harbouring spam related activity globally. Out of the approximately 305 types of  known spamming methods and with China being home to most of them, it promopted the Anti-Spam Center to take preventive action by educating the public in using anti-spam and firewall softwares.

The data indicated that between June and October 2006, the proportion of  spam related incidents occuring in China had fallen about 3.5%.  The research also revealed that 83.66% of internet users blame rogue developers who wrote spamming programs and computer hackers who accessed millions of email addresses from databases worldwide for the foray of annoying junk messages.
