Lenovo Group launches the first computers with Microsoft Windows Vista operating system in Beijing this morning. There are twenty days left for its formal introduction of the household version of Vista.

On January 4th, Li Shijie, deputy general manager of Microsoft China and general manager of OEM China, revealed that Vista computers would be likely to meet with domestic consumers on the 27th of this month. It is obvious that Lenovo is ahead of all the other PC manufacturers this time.

It is said that Lenovo chose to launch Vista computers on January 9th for an advantageous opportunity. Analysts say that along with the aggravation of homogenized competition, the competitive advantage of PC products has been reducing. Under such conditions, Vista has become one of the largest selling points in the PC market in 2007. Lenovo and other PC giants naturally will not miss such opportunity.

Sources say that Chen Shaopeng, Lenevo Global Senior Vice President and President of Great China, presided over the launch ceremony in person, from which it can be seen that Lenovo attaches a great importance to Vista computers.

It is worth noting that Chen Shaopeng has ever attended the Microsoft Three Major Products Introduction Conference as a distinguished guest on November 30th of 2006 and this shows the close ties between the two parties. In addition, In April of 2006, Lenovo and other three PC manufacturers, i.e. Founder, Tongfang and TCL went to the United States in succession and signed a huge sum procurement agreement with Microsoft.

As a kind of product in a new era, Vista will bring about more PC procurement and opportunities for sale. It is believed that it will be greatly welcomed by users.” Chen Shaopeng evaluated at the Microsoft conference on November 30th.
