Computer virus Panda Burns Incense continues to spread

The computer virus “FuckJacks.exe” (Panda Burns Incense), Trojan-PSW.Win32.QQRob.ec in Kaspersky Anti-virus software, is continuing to spread, infecting a large number of enterprises and institutions. The Shanghai Computer Virus Prevention Centre warns computer users to step up their protection efforts against “FuckJacks.exe”: “This virus is in its acute variety period and computer users are very vulnerable when surfing on internet”.

Panda Burns Incense can infect system files with the extensions .exe, .com, .pif, .src, .html and .asp. All the icons of the executable program flies infected will be replaced with the picture in which a panda is holding three burning incenses.

This virus not only damages the computer system of the units it infects, but it can also disable applications and even cancel the files with a .gho extension. As a result, the lost of system backups leads to the failure of the system restoration.

Many variants of FuckJacks.exe have appeared recently. Since the last December, more than 30 kinds of virus variants have been found in China. Although the anti-virus software enterprises have launched several tools to combat the virus and reminded computer users many times to take precautions, a large numbers of companies and individual users are infected.

Computer virus experts point out that to upgrade the anti-virus software and the firewall program is the key to ensuring computer security.  .
