BEIJING, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares started slightly higher on Friday. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opened at 3,071.81 points, up by 0.58 points, or 0.02 percent.
The index, which tracks both yuan-denominated A shares and hard-currency B shares traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed at 3,071.23 points on Thursday.
