On the morning of August 4, 2007, Quanzhou Shaolin Temple laid the foundation of its Guanyin Pavilion. At the ceremony, several monks gave an impressive kungfu show. The pavilion will cover 1,100 sq m, and it will be 22 m tall when completed. A statue of the Guanyin, or the Goddess of Mercy will be put in it.
