Paper-cutter Han Yan and 200 students display the world's longest paper-cut work in Guangzhou on Sunday, July 6, 2008.
A paper-cut work with a length of 226.93 meters, which had been certified as the world's longest by the Guinness Book of World Records, was displayed in Guangzhou on Sunday.
Han Yan, the paper cutter who set the world record, donated her work to the National Art Museum of China for free on the same day, Guangzhou Daily reported.
The work, titled "Hundreds of Family Names", is composed of 288 family names that are common in China.
It took Han Yan 20 months to finish the work. "The most difficult part was its design, which took me more than one year to prepare for," said Han.
The previous longest paper cutting record was shared by two artists from Nanjing and Nanchang, whose works were both 200.8 meters long, the report said.
