Young lovers queued in the civil affairs department to make reservations for their marriage registration on August 8th. (Guangzhou Daily) Yesterday was July 8th, marking the one-month countdown to the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. It was also the first open day for couples to register for marriage and book their wedding dates in Guangzhou for one month later.
