Around 173 participants from 34 countries and regions have registered to take part in Tianjin 2010 Summer Davos Forum, including dozens of Fortune 500 companies, international financial institutions and major media, latest information from the Tianjin Summer Davos office demonstrated in May.

Tianjin used to take a back seat to other cities, and was defined only by its relation to Beijing.

But Tianjin Mayor Huang Xingguo said the municipality will soon develop into an economic center of North China and he is determined to bring more projects and investment to the city.

The China "Summer Davos" summit, due to be held in September in the north China city of Tianjin, will again focus on sustainability and the green economy, said Andre Schneider, managing director of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The detailed agenda would be designed to meet the changing new growth context with more discussion of new business models and technical innovations, Schneider said in a press briefing in Beijing.

As one of the alternative hotels serving for 2010 Summer Davos, Tianjin Grand View Hotel which had been designed as the 5-star hotel standard opened into business recently.
Taking the Chance of holding 2010 Summer Davos,Tianjin will have 10 five-star hotels by investing in constructing new 5-star hotels and improving the exsited 5-star hotels.
